When it comes to technical ability, Spain are a whole generation ahead of England. They might've scuppered their own chances at the WC when leaving themselves manager-less before the first game, but the reality is that when it comes to pure footballing class, I'm not sure if there is a country on the planet that plays football in as fluid a manner as Spain. Unfortunately though, Spain are back to being how they were before David Villa. Lacking a killer goalscorer upfront. If they consistently had a top world class goalscorer throughout their history, they'd have a lot more than the one WC.

Rashford is wasting his time at lousy united! He needs to move to a far better club like liv, manc or prob real madrid who are in need of an instinctive striker!

Sorry, i didnt know if i had not commented he would have had a glorious career without any unlucky injuries and have won everything. I will try next time and revive someone's career. Thanks for the suggestion.

Also, I found a new word you might like. It's called "Sarcasm." Go google it.

Barca used to have so many players in the national team... Nowadays majority of their players are foreign players... La Masia?

They are just a money club. Look at their transfers

Neymar from Santos 50m
Suarez from Liverpool 75m
Coutinho from Liverpool 140m
Dembele from Dortmund 135m

we've got some promising talents in midfield for La Masia. alena, oriol, monchu, puig. looking at the transfers, we mostly spend on attacking force, something that is lacking from academy to be quite honest.

@ForcaCataluna everyone has promising talents in their academy. It doesn't mean anything until they're proven in the first team level. Fact is, Barcelona that used to boast their academy for one golden generation has become Real Madrid that they said "big spender club". Meanwhile Madrid these days are barely spending and promoting (or buying back) their Castilla players. Tbh the last decent player coming out of La Masia is Sergi Roberto..

Pep was good at giving La Masias talents a chance in the team. But since he left it seems like their talents get much less chances. To become a starplayer and take that last step you have to be given chances. It's a bit sad because Barca used to be really good at mixing their own talents with bought in starplayers. Now it is almost a panic situation if a starplayer leaves without a replacement being bought in, instead of bringing up talents which are much less expensive. However I'm not really updated on La Masia and maybe their talents today are not on the level to get chances in the team...

with messi, pique, alba and busquets retired within a few years, barca will be without a world class la masia player, unless someone new is found (roberto is decent, but not world class)... I really miss that 'golden generation' of la masia players: busquets, messi, iniesta, xavi, pedro, pique, valdes, puyol, febregas

On the one side, the current Barcelona board is focused on big names and tough players (see Vidal) rather than purely technical ones to fit the Cruyffian way of playing. They've also started started buying youngsters for Masia
On the other side, hunger for trophies makes teams look for shortcuts to long-term success in proven young players, while other teams are already getting stronger themselves. Academies and testing players becomes a high risk to those objectives and managers prefer to loan out every surplus talent.

Seeing Madrid fans attempting to be on the higher ground on this topic is laughable, having bought Lunin, Vinicius, Odegard (which are great players and a normal thing to do in the current market, with their trophy objectives and all).

England don't have technical ability? Yeah because young talents like kane alli rose rashford sterling welback wilshere woodburn lingard don't have any technical ability?

Firstly. I didn't say they didn't have technical ability. I clearly stated that Spain are superior. Secondly. No. Wilshere? Welbeck? Who is Woodburn? Are you referring to Ben Woodburn at Liverpool? Ben Woodburn is WELSH.

Kane - very good goalscorer.
Alli - very good player.
Sterling??

Do England have game changers? Flair players? Players who can do something out of the ordinary? Not a single one.

What? You said he can look 'at his wc'. He doesn't have a wc. England beat Tunisia in the last moments and their biggest win was vs 69th ranked country in the world! Got outclassed not once but twice by Belgium and beaten by a nation of less than 5m. Who on earth is Harry maguire?

Spain taking this tournament seriously but first game of France and Germany was of poor quality. I hope this concept replaces meaningless international friendlies across all continents

rashford could have scored 2 goals lol, he needs to move to bundesliga if mourinho is not playing him at all, wasting time with his talent being sanchez backup.

Mou needs to be sacked. He doesn't know how to develop talents. He only likes to use experienced players.

England will get relegated at this rate. The defense repeatedly lose concentration for periods of the game, and the attack is not flowing with the mid. The more I see Kane, the more overrated I think he is. But then he seems more isolated with Rashford then Sterling. Welbeck comes and scores in like 3 minutes. Something has to change for them, because Spain was there for the taking.
