Match facts

Everton

  • Everton have won four of their last five Barclays Premier League home games against Chelsea.
  • If games had ended at half-time this season Everton would be top, Chelsea fifth.
  • If games just encompassed the second half then Everton would be bottom with zero points.
  • Everton new boy Samuel Eto’o scored nine Premier League goals for the Pensioners in 2013-14 but all of them came at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea

  • Since the 2009-10 season, Chelsea have lost four times to Everton; only Manchester City (5) have beaten them more often in that period.
  • Chelsea have conceded just nine goals in 2014, fewer than any other ever-present PL side.
  • Diego Costa has had two shots on target this season and scored with both.
  • Eden Hazard has embarked on more dribbles than any other Premier League player this season (22 – eight more than any other player).

Predictions

Chelsea have started the campaign in excellent form. The Blues are one of only four teams yet to drop a point this term, though a trip to Goodison Park presents them with their first real test of the season. Mourinho's side succumbed to defeat at Goodison Park last term courtesy of a Steven Naismith header and the Portuguese will expect a much-improved performance from his side.

This should be an intriguing encounter that could result in a draw.

Final Score – 1 : 1

Costa sidelined ? Does Footyroom know something that Chelsea FC ( Diego Costa employer ) doesn't know ? There's nothing written on Chelsea FC website regarding his injury let alone the period he's sidelined. I wonder where the 6 weeks of sideline came from. He was just reported to have sustained a minor injury in training, and the injury was even only noticed after the training finished. But nevertheless Chelsea need another striker. I prefer Remy of QPR . Would be cheap, deadly and much more quicker than Drogba or Torres.

Shame really because Costa has been brilliant so far.

6 weeks is only a rumour. It may be just a few days and Costa is not yet ruled out of this match

Hope Costa get better earlier than 6 weeks but if not, we should find another striker as soon as possible.

Destro is the perfect replacement for Costa when he is injured

Costa injured is without a doubt the most painfull blow on Chelsea. They need to sign another striker that can fill Costa's position. Destro is on their top list
